Attorney William Brelsford Accused Of Incompetence

On February 28th 2007, Barry Pittard wrote a blogged article entitled “Sai Baba’s ‘Minister of Propaganda’ - Dr G. Venkataraman”. In this article, Barry Pittard said (in part):

“However, a civil lawsuit against the directors of the Sathya Sai Society of America law went badly wrong for the litigant, Alaya Rahm of southern California, who was advised by his attorney, William Brelsford, to self-dismiss his case. This resulted in terms so absurdly unfavourable to Rahm that some of us have wondered whether his pro bono lawyer William Brelsford can even look himself in the mirror of a morning. Had the family not suffered enough - having already courageously lent themselves to former devotee efforts with Denmark’s national broadcaster DR, BBC television, FBI and State Department, UNESCO, etc., - I, for one, favoured initiating a complaint process about William Brelsford to the California Bar Society.”

To begin with, Alaya Rahm is not from Southern California and does not reside there. He resides in Arkansas (as confirmed in court records). Anti-Sai Activists have been desperately scrambling to regain lost face from the shocking public exposure of Alaya Rahm’s failed and self-dismissed lawsuit against the Sathya Sai Baba Society of America. Attorney Brelsford knew that he could not win the case due to overwhelming evidence against his client (Alaya Rahm) and advised him to self-dismiss his case.

Claiming to be intimately familiar with Alaya Rahm’s failed lawsuit, Ex-Devotees embarrassed themselves when they publicly lied and erroneously claimed that Alaya Rahm’s case was heard by Judge John M. Watson on April 28th 2006 (despite the official court records scans on my website proving otherwise) and they left this error in place for over a year. This glaring mistake was finally corrected and it was casually dismissed as a ‘clerical error’.

In Ex-Devotee’s response to Alaya Rahm’s failed lawsuit, the main thrust of their retort heavily relied on self-serving quotes allegedly taken from a letter written by attorney William Brelsford on their behalf (in which he was cited as a credible authority and voice of legal expertise).

Fast forward 8 months and Barry Pittard (engaging in his typical blame-tactics) broke the silence by accusing William L. Brelsford of incompetence and being ‘seriously deficient’. Barry Pittard further stated that he ‘favoured initiating a complaint process about William Brelsford to the California Bar Society’. Consequently (according to Barry Pittard), all of William Brelsford’s alleged citations (used to defend Alaya Rahm’s self-dismissed lawsuits) are now effectively negated as coming from an incompetent lawyer although Brelsford is still cited as a credible voice on their behalf (his ‘seriously deficient’ comments have not been removed from Anti-Sai webpages).

Ex-Devotees have a nasty habit of blaming everyone else for their numerous failures and can often be seen misrepresenting facts, distorting information and even resorting to outright prevarication to make their shabby and half-baked arguments against Sathya Sai Baba (who has never been charged with any crime, sexual or otherwise). Now Ex-Devotees are defaming William Brelsford and are accusing him of incompetence for Alaya Rahm’s self-dismissed lawsuit although:

1. Alaya Rahm’s court case was self-dismissed because he sued the wrong defendant in the wrong court in the wrong country.


2. In “Response To Form Interrogatories” Alaya Rahm fully admitted that he had been a daily user of illegal street drugs and alcohol since at least 1999 - 2005. Consequently, during Alaya Rahm’s “Divine Downfall” and India Today Anti-Sai interviews and during the filming of the BBC Documentary “Secret Swami” and the “Seduced By Sai Baba” Danish Documentary, Alaya Rahm was under the influence of illegal street drugs and alcohol while relating his alleged sexual encounters with Sathya Sai Baba. This crucial information wholly undermines Alaya Rahm’s credibility and irreparably compromises the integrity of his claims. Needless to say, this information has been purposely suppressed from the general public by Anti-Sai Activists and the media.


3. Alaya Rahm claimed that Lewis Kreydick & Family were all aware of “incidents” relating to his alleged molestation and named them (on record) as people who:
   
   
   
   1. Witnessed the INCIDENT or the event occurring immediately before or after the INCIDENT.
   
   
   2. Made statements at the scene of the INCIDENT.
   
   
   3. Heard statements made about the INCIDENT by any individual at the scene.
   
   
   4. Had knowledge of the INCIDENT.
   
   
   
   Needless to say, Kreydick’s sworn and video-taped deposition wholly refuted all these points made by Alaya Rahm. The Society did not actively go out and attempt to discredit Alaya Rahm. Rather, they simply interviewed a witness named by Alaya Rahm himself and obtained a shocking and damaging deposition against him.


4. The legal proceeding provided a forum in which Alaya Rahm’s claims could be thoroughly and critically examined. Through this process of investigation, it was discovered that Alaya Rahm and his family spoke at a number of retreats and conferences between 1995 and 1999 (during the time that the alleged sexual abuse events were said to have occurred). Inconsistent with Alaya Rahm’s later accusations, these conference talks (many of which were recorded and have been transcribed: Refs: 01 - 02), contain no suggestion of any wrongdoing. The earlier words spoken by Alaya would appear to refute his later accusations, especially Alaya’s whole-hearted and enthusiastic praise of Sathya Sai Baba and the writing of a love poem to him after allegedly being sexually abused dozens of times.


5. Notably, in pretrial discovery, Alaya Rahm claimed (by his own admission) that he had suffered no psychological trauma that would have required medical or psychiatric care. Furthermore, Alaya identified no psychologist who had ever examined him! As a matter of fact, Alaya Rahm never saw an “expert psychologist” and his parents never sent him to one. Rather, the only help that Alaya obtained was a 3 day seminar from the Landmark Forum on “Empowerment, self help and personal growth” that cost $795 in June 2005 (5-9 years after his alleged abuse and 5 months after he filed his lawsuit)! That’s it.

Barry Pittard conveniently ignored all of these crucial and pivotal facts about Alaya Rahm and instead blamed attorney William Brelsford although no one (not even one critic or other ex-devotee) was identified to the court to support, help or defend Alaya Rahm in his allegations against Sathya Sai Baba.

Barry Pittard is the picture of a lost-soul on the street, babbling to walls, trees and clouds, which cannot and do not respond to the rhetoric he repeats like an automaton. As a matter of fact, one can often see how Ex-Devotees thrive on repetition. “Deceive The Naive” is their motto and their parrot-like antics are used as psychological ploys to hypnotize, befuddle and mislead.

Barry Pittard and Robert Priddy’s gutless personal attacks and viperine scribblings (which they attempt to peddle as Holy Writ) are evidence of their renewed desperation and blog delirium. The stronger critics attack Sathya Sai Baba, the more they expose the truth about themselves. They are (as other’s have pointed out for a long time) a small and vocal group of angry, bitter and mentally unstable defamers who care more for sensationalism and sleaze and care less for honesty and the truth.

Pamela Stephenson & 'Shrink Rap' Misrepresented

Barry Pittard’s Reference To Dr. Pamela Stephenson:

On Barry Pittard’s defamatory and conspiratorial Anti-Sai blog, he said the following about Pamela Stephenson & her TV show “Shrink Rap”:

“I recently saw Pamela Stephenson interviewed by Andrew Denton in Enough Rope on ABC television (Australian Broadcasting Corporation). She is the former celebrated actress and comedian, and star of such television shows Not The Nine O’Clock News. She is now a clinical psychologist in Hollywood and a professor of psychology at the California Graduate Institute.

Vile Public Critics
In her recently-made television series Shrink Rap, her famous interview subjects were willing to bare their more vulnerable feelings and lesions, and in a serious way beyond what usually passes for celebrity (so-called) ‘revelations’. Her subjects thus far have been Sharon Osbourne, Stephen Fry, David Blunkett, Sarah Ferguson, and Robin Williams. In a note for the show, Stephenson says:

‘Shrink Rap is an attempt to allow people not to be under pressure of performing, not to feel that they have to present the ideal self, the one that is always adorable and perfect and funny and together. This allows people to bring forward the true self, to not always tell the official story’.

Holding Barbarians at Bay
But, prior to its release, she found herself editing things out far more than she had earlier thought she would need to. It was not the celebrities themselves who called for this degree of censorship but Stephenson’s own deepening awareness of state-of-the-art maliciousness among media commentators and other unconscienable attackers. Stephenson had her own experience of having earlier been one of Great Britain’s best-known television celebrities (and is, moreover, the wife of one of the world’s most famous comedians Billy Connelly). Therefore, the need occurred her to go to still greater editorial lengths to protect her famous interview subjects. She was acutely aware of the extreme readiness of unscrupulous critics to make insensitive and distorted use of what her subjects revealed about themselves. In an interview for The Independent, she observed:

‘I can control what we have in the programme, and take out things that might be misunderstood, but there’s no guarantee of how it’s going to be received. I will feel terrible on people’s behalf if anyone is publicly punished for saying how they feel.’

Neo-Neanderthal Journalism Needs Extinctifying
There needs of course to be a new regimen of sensitivity and responsibity in the media. This is not to say, necessarily, censorship of either journalists or of content presented by those they write about. (Although it is a sad comment that the very advocates of an open society have, all too often, to self-censorship against philistine triumph). Rather, it is about creating an altogether different climate in which genuine feelings of interview or other subjects can be discussed more openly and commented on sensitively and intelligently, sans attack and cynical exploitation. Rupert Murdoch thinks he can influence an eco friendly ‘greening’ of his newspapers. So then, let him and other prime movers and shakers support those developmental programmes which create greater awareness in journalists (and especially the emerging trainee ones) that might approach that sensitivity and deep ethics being role-modeled by Pamela Stephenson.”

Smoke-Screens, Denial And Speaking Ill of Others:

The anonymous “ExBaba Admin” said Barry Pittard further commented on his article by saying:

“A similar nastiness of attack is made - including by those such as Dr G. Venkataraman, on his official website, and other Sai Baba defenders, on former devotees. What is the wish of so many former devotees in many countries? What is it that many (although the top leaders do not tell this to the rank-and-file devotees) have asked of the Sathya Sai Organization to do? It has been to request proper third party investigation of abuse allegations made against Sai Baba and certain of those around him. Instead of clarity, these shameless leaders offer smoke-screens. They remain silent about the integrity of those who have brought issues before them personally. The more we speak with others who have exposed immorality and spiritual betrayal in their gurus, the more do we find remarkable patterns - those of smoke-screening, cover up, denial, and speaking ill of those who have raised serious issues that need to be addressed by any responsible organization.”

Barry Pittard’s Nastiness & Muckraking Exposed:

Barry Pittard’s misrepresentation of Pamela Stephenson and her TV show ‘Shrink Rap’ to further his smear campaigns against Sathya Sai Baba is nothing new. Barry Pittard did the same with his article on Tim Sullivan and his article about a Judge warned about a pervert. Barry Pittard publicly and shamelessly lied about Ullrich Zimmermann twice (Refs: 01 - 02).

Barry Pittard and Anti-Sai Activists are notorious for publicly smearing and ridiculing Sai Devotees and Sai Proponents who do not believe their hearsay and unsubstantiated allegations against Sathya Sai Baba. Barry Pittard waged vicious smear campaigns and attacks against Rabbi Zeller and Dr. Sunny Anand although these two Sai Devotees never spoke one word against Barry Pittard or his group of Anti-Sai thugs.

Not only does Barry Pittard openly endorse, promote and associate himself with the vicious liar, pervert and defamer Sanjay Dadlani (Ref), he also wrote an article about Hal Honig (a high-profile Sai Devotee) and made the following accusations:

• Alleged Honig was a homosexual.


• Publicly accused Honig of running a pedophile ring from his apartment (despite Honig’s open-door policy to any Sai Devotee needing a place to stay when he is not in the USA).


• Publicly alleged that Honig was running a people-trafficking ring, shipping poor Negros from New York’s ghettos to India for sexual purposes.


• Published vicious hearsay rumors from an anonymous informant against Honig.


• Publicly boasted that he notified the New York Mayor’s Office, which allegedly issued a case number (that is not indicative of guilt) against Honig.


• Publicly boasted that he notified Interpol against Honig.


• Publicly boasted that he informed the FBI at the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia about Honig.


• Publicly boasted that he sent his pedophile ring allegations to the U.S. State Department, Washington and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Canberra, Australia against Honig.

Of course, Honig has never been charged with (or formally informed of) any crime subsequent to Pittard’s complaints over eight months ago. Barry Pittard’s alleged sensitivities to muckraking, nastiness and stalking (on and off the internet) are huge pseudo-moralistic and hypocritical pretenses. Barry Pittard engages in the very same reprehensible behavior he loves to point out in others.

Numerous are the instances of former followers defaming, ridiculing and libeling Sathya Sai Baba, Pro-Sai Activists and Sai Devotees. Barry Pittard and Robert Priddy have published pictures of Sai Devotees in their defamatory articles and when the same is done to them, they hiss, whine and snivel about “copyright infringement”.

Barry Pittard blatantly misrepresented the former U.S. State Department warning on a free press-release website and had the audacity to claim in bold-caps that “U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT NAMES SATHYA SAI BABA Re PEDOPHILE ACCUSATIONS” (Ref). To Date: Sathya Sai Baba has never (ever) been charged of any crime, sexual or otherwise. Not even one alleged victim has filed a basic police complaint or court case against the Guru in India despite being offered free “world-class legal resources” by Barry Pittard himself.

Barry Pittard wages an unremitting smear-campaign against Sathya Sai Baba that accuses him of “serial pedophilia” and the sexual abuse of “boys” and “children”. These comments are fallacious, unsubstantiated and wholly untrue. “Pedophilia” is the sexual abuse or exploitation of a boy, girl or child 12/13 years of age or younger (Ref). There are no testimonies from boys, children or parents of children that support the erroneous claim that Sathya Sai Baba is a pedophile (paedophile) who engaged in sexual interactions with children. As a matter of fact, the youngest, non-anonymous testimony came from a 16 years old teenager (Jed Geyerhahn) who claimed he was not sexually abused. All the other alleged victims were 18 years of age or older. This once again goes to show how those inimical towards Sathya Sai Baba resort to cheap propaganda and blatant disinformation because the truth simply does not argue in their favor.

Just recently, Robert Priddy psychotically lied about a Sai Devotee (Darpan) and erroneously accused him of making a bogus composite image of the Moon with Sai Baba’s face on it. Despite the picture being an obvious composite, Robert Priddy stalked Darpan, sought out his picture and publicly posted it on his blog along with Darpan’s email address. Needless to say, Robert Priddy never cared to research the matter in depth and completely missed the hard-to-miss post where Darpan admitted the image was not real and that the only reason he created the image was to give others an idea as to what he alleged he saw on the Moon. These are the shameless muckrakers who hypocritically whine about meanness, nastiness and stalking (all the while ignoring the meanness, nastiness and stalking of Sanjay Dadlani, Tony O’Clery, Reinier Van Der Sandt and themselves).

About Pamela Stephenson Connolly & Shrink Rap:

In 2007 Dr. Connolly presented a series of programmes for British television channel More 4 called Shrink Rap, in which she interviewed various celebrities using psychotherapeutic techniques. Those questioned were reality show star Sharon Osbourne, writer and performer Stephen Fry, Sarah Ferguson Duchess of York, former British cabinet minister David Blunkett and actor-comedian Robin Williams.

While quasi-therapeutic in approach, the interviewees were briefed that the conversations were interviews and not strictly therapy. Connolly focused on relating various childhood experiences and traumas to the adult difficulties of the celebrities. “They knew that the last thing I wanted to do was do any harm to them.” Which led to another ethical dilemma. “I couldn’t guarantee how it will be received.” Having got her subjects to expose themselves, she did her best to protect them. The two-and-a-half-hour interviews were edited down to 50 minutes. If they said something too sensitive for their own good, she cut it out. (Ref).

Barry Pittard cited the following quote from Pamela Stephenson:

Although Barry Pittard attempted to argue that Stephenson said this because she was aware “of state-of-the-art maliciousness among media commentators and other unconscienable attackers”, she actually said this in relation to her interview with David Blunkett (British Labor Party Politician) and how she was aware that political pundits would jump on his every word (Ref).

Barry Pittard is trying very hard to justify and make excuses for his defamations and smear-campaigns against Sathya Sai Baba that are not rooted in verifiable or reliable sources. Barry Pittard defames and libels Sathya Sai Baba under the pretense of “protecting” alleged victims and his sources. Barry Pittard is well aware that he cannot answer relevant questions about the Sai Controversy without jeopardizing his credibility and the alleged integrity of the Anti-Sai movement. Even going back to 2001, Anti-Sai sympathizers criticized Barry Pittard about the hearsay allegations made against Sai Baba (Ref).

Barry Pittard resorts to libel, rhetoric and propaganda because he and his Anti-Sai friends have been completely unable to make any legal leeway against Sathya Sai Baba:

• Despite ceaseless name-dropping.


• Despite years of unremitting calumny, ridicule, slurs and defamations.


• Despite erroneously and fraudulently claiming that Sai Baba is a “serial pedophile” who runs people-trafficking rings (allegedly shipping Negros to India from New York’s ghettos for sexual purposes, as alleged by Conny Larsson), absurd claims which have never been proven or supported in any way whatsoever.


• Despite making criminal allegations like murder, racketeering, money-laundering, homosexual abuse, rape, etc. (although Sai Baba and the Sai Org have never been charged with any crime).


• Despite getting various media to run exposure articles against Sai Baba and then publicly boasting on their Anti-Sai websites how they were responsible for the media exposures.


• Despite claiming there is substantial (albeit secret and withheld) evidence and proof against Sai Baba (although they are unable to hire even one money-hungry lawyer to represent alleged victims despite the Guru’s “empire” being allegedly worth billions of dollars).

Barry Pittard & Pamela Stephenson - In Conclusion:

In conclusion, there is absolutely no comparison between Pamela Stephenson’s interviews on her Shrink Rap show and the allegations made against Sathya Sai Baba on Anti-Sai websites by ex-devotees.

Barry Pittard should follow his own advice about eliminating “Neo-Neanderthal Journalism” (which he fully engages in on his defamatory Anti-Sai blog). Far be it for Barry Pittard to preach about “sensitivity” and “deep ethics” when he displays neither of these characteristics himself.

The closer one looks at Barry Pittard and

Anti-Sai Activists, the more one sees of a group that is clinically and negatively obsessed with revenge and anger. This type of unprincipled and besotted behavior is a documented phenomenon that is characteristic of apostates. Former follower’s polyloquent grievances are being fueled by Alaya Rahm’s Self-Dismissed Lawsuit Against The Sathya Sai Baba Society, Unesco’s Regret In Their Press Release Against Sai Baba and the U.S. State Department Removing All Indirect References To Sathya Sai Baba From Their Official Website.

The truth is finally prevailing and former followers are desperately trying to get somewhere besides nowhere. Intelligent people are finally beginning to ask vital questions about the Sai Controversy and are being slapped on the face with claims of “anonymity”, “confidentiality” and “secrecy” by ex-devotees. Thankfully, this secret is now out of the bag and critics are still hoping to fool the few gullible and naive who thrive on the very same deceit and dishonesty that they do.

Barry Pittard is a cunning and deceitful individual (with proof) who has become so desperate in his smear-campaigns against Sathya Sai Baba that he is now purposely and maliciously associating news that has nothing to do with Sathya Sai Baba with him.

Just recently, Barry Pittard wrote an article on his Anti-Sai conspiracy blog that said:

Boston Herald. Friday, March 23, 2007‘Aging and Sick Sex Offender to Be Civilly Committed?

Whatever the wisdom of civil commitment laws it would seem that this fellow might qualify. Increasingly, though, the states are going to have to contend with the high cost of health care in keeping aging and sick convicts behind bars.

Even though his aging, bloated body is confined to a wheelchair, a judge was warned yesterday a 59-year-old convicted sexual predator remains dangerous to children. A forensic psychologist assured Lawrence Superior Court Judge Howard J. Whitehead that convicted child rapist Wayne Chapman, who bragged he had sexually molested between 50 and 100 boys and even fantasized about killing some of them, “presents a high and unacceptable risk to re-offend.” “It just doesn’t go away,” Christine Schnyder Pierce testified. Chapman, an interstate predator, has been incarcerated for 31 years. Having served his time, he is hoping to retire in Massachusetts, but the Essex District Attorney’s Office is fighting to have Whitehead civilly commit him for life as a “sexually dangerous” person’.”

Barry Pittard also posted a blurb on digg.com that said:

“Judge warned: Crippling disease won’t stop pervert

Some Sai Baba protagonists claim that he could not possibly sex offend, if he ever did, because of his age and physical incapacity, and that therefore his current accusers are caught in a palpable deceit. Instead of attempting to belittle testimony, they need to look at what Gerontology and Geriatrics have to opine on the topic.”

The only person “caught in palpable deceit” is Barry Pittard, who purposely and maliciously attempted to deceive the general public by making it seem as if a Judge was warned that Sathya Sai Baba was a pervert who had a crippling disease. As a matter of fact, a woman named “Miriam Dunn” (aka “Miridunn”) commented on Barry’s digg.com post and was under the impression that the warning pertained to Sathya Sai Baba. Miriam Dunn said:

“Until he is DEAD he poses a threat. Keep him locked up forever.”

It is exactly articles like these that prove that Barry Pittard is an Anti-Sai extremist and fanatic who must rely on deception, misrepresentation, subterfuge and fraudulence to make his case against Sathya Sai Baba because the truth does not argue in his favor. The article in question was not related (directly, indirectly or otherwise) to Sathya Sai Baba whatsoever.

Barry Pittard also claimed that he and other ex-devotees do not slur. Despite this patently absurd claim, Barry Pittard slurred and said of Sai Baba: “Of course, making Champion of the World may require Sai Baba to take a little more than Viagra or Cialis”. For those who do not know, Viagra and Cialis are male-impotence medications that work by enhancing the effects of one of the chemicals the body normally released into the penis during sexual arousal. This increases blood flow into the penis and an erection is the result. That’s right, Barry Pittard (the oh-so-dharmic, non-slurring ex-devotee) is insinuating that Sathya Sai Baba is taking Viagra and Cialis without proof.

Ironically, Barry Pittard (while a devotee of Sai Baba) fathered a son out of wedlock with a 21 year old woman when he was 58 (and old enough to be her Grand-Father). Barry Pittard also performed questionable “kundalini healings” on women when he was a Sai Devotee. Is it of any wonder that Barry Pittard was kicked out of Sathya Sai Baba’s ashram (by his own admission)?

Barry Pittard also attempted to warn people about giving money to Sathya Sai Baba. The Sathya Sai Organization happens to be one of the largest recipients of foreign donations in India. Barry Pittard already made it clear why he is attempting to influence people not give money to Sathya Sai Baba’s charitable organizations. On March 30th 2003, Barry Pittard said:

“I am trusting that one of the effects of our constant Exposure on many levels will be to get into all sorts of nooks and crannies that we cannot even be aware of, and taht this will, for example, increasingly bite into the huge financial contributions, with those who have been donors suddently disappearing from the Sai Trust/Sai Org. arena, along with their disbrusements. Perhaps it is too early-days for this to be happening but, given the enormous extent of our intensive actions, both individual and organised, in the last three years, it must be getting a lot closer. It is what we need to bring about, so that the Sai Empire begins to crumble from many points within its edifice.” (Reference)

On every front, Barry Pittard and Anti-Sai Activists are waging a lonely and losing battle against Sathya Sai Baba. Even after many years of unremitting smear and hate campaigns, vicious defamations, libels, gutter untruths, subterfuge and outright deceit (posted on hundreds of Anti-Sai webpages), Sathya Sai Baba’s charitable Organization is still one of the largest recipients of foreign donations in India. Sathya Sai Baba remains a very popular and well respected Guru who commands great respect and devotion from India’s intellectual elite, including Presidents and Prime Ministers (as well as millions around the globe).

This is not the first time that Barry Pittard has attempted to con the general public with his fraudulent articles. I think I can confidently state that these pictures prove that Conny Larsson is suffering from some sort of Guru-complex and thinks he is empowered to instruct and initiate others with mantras, bhajans, meditation techniques and psychic healings! Another high-profile Anti-Sai Activist exposed. It is ironic that Conny Larsson referred to himself as a "clown" in the past. Conny's first book was called "God's Little Clown". His second book was called "Behind The Clown's Mask". After looking at the pictures above, I think the clown epithet is entirely appropriate.

The blunt truth of the matter is that Conny Larsson is a physically unattractive person and it appears he is attempting to get the attention (sexual and otherwise) he craves through selling himself as a Guru, Teacher, Psychic Healer, Mantra Bestower, Vedic Master, etc. I wonder how many Anti-Sai Activists are following Conny Larsson into Gurudom? About Sharon Purcell And Sathya Sai Baba:
Sharon Purcell (now deceased) was from Tustin, California and was allegedly devoted to Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for 32 years before she defected due to the sexual abuse allegations leveled against him.

After her defection from Sai Baba, Sharon Purcell (Satch's mother) stated in an email to Glen Meloy that she believed Sai Baba was a "monster", a "demon from the astral world" and was "concerned that the late Walter and Elsie Cowan may have ended up in an astral demon's realm". How's that for a sober, rational and logical argument against Sathya Sai Baba? Sharon also doubted Baba because she was in labor for 46 hours and was deeply hurt because she did not get an interview in 1991. Sharon Purcell also advocated for Tal Brooke's book, "Avatar of the Night" (written by a Fundamentalist Christian whose stories have never been corroborated by any alleged witness in 30+ years). Gary Purcell divorced Sharon in 1977 (when Satch was 4 years old).

Sharon Purcell told Glen Meloy that she was prepared to spend the rest of her life exposing Sai Baba's alleged sexual molestations on innocent boys and young men and prayed that other people would come forward with their stories. Sharon Purcell died on February 15th 2003 (while in her 60's) of Lou Gehrig's disease and left no original articles or words against Sathya Sai Baba except a few sentences uttered on an Argentinean TV program (directed by the atheist, Alejandro Agostinelli) which said:

“Well, you know what? I believed he was God… he did do one thing that I can't explain, that's why I think that he is some kind of an astral demon.”

Satch Purcell is writing a series of articles against Sathya Sai Baba in which he reinterprets his family's miraculous experiences with their former Indian Guru.

Sathya Sai Baba correctly foretold to Barry Pittard (when he was allegedly observing celibacy) that he would have a son several years before he actually did (Reference). Like Barry Pittard, Sathya Sai Baba correctly foretold to Gary and Sharon Purcell that they would give birth to a son (which occurred 2 years later). Sathya Sai Baba told Gary and Sharon to name the child after him, hence the name “Sathya Sai Purcell”. Satch Purcell “now thinks” (he doesn't remember) that as a toddler, he stuck a medallion that Baba materialized for him into a socket. Although a piece of the medallion was burned off (indicating it was made of metal), it mysteriously did not conduct electricity and Satya Purcell was not hurt. Regarding this experience, Satch Purcell said:

“Such instances, filtered through the pious mind, show how easy it is for Sai Baba's fame to spread by sudden leaps and bounds.”

Satch Purcell begins his Anti-Sai series with a meaningless example, citing a story he does not even remember. I am sure that any mother who saw a flash of light, heard an electrical sound and found her toddler behind a sofa with a burned metal medallion would be thanking God profusely.

It is amusing that Sathya Purcell is attempting to reinterpret his experiences as non-miraculous when most Anti-Sai Activists hold the view that Sathya Sai Baba does possess genuine paranormal powers.

This is Satch Purcell’s second article in which he attempted (once again) to make the case that Sathya Sai Baba is a lousy fraud magician whose lousy fraud magician materializations are as clear as day. Funny enough (as stated before), even some of the most vocal Anti-Sai Activists believe that Sathya Sai Baba does possess genuine paranormal powers. Confusingly, these critics believe that Sathya Sai Baba both fakes and performs genuine materializations (how’s that for being confused?). Also, it appears the ExBaba admin is enhancing Satch’s articles with Anti-Sai links because they forgot to add Robert Priddy’s link to his bogus “green diamond” claim and left a note in the article that said “ROBERT RING XXX” (which clearly was not written by Satch).

Sharon Purcell told Glen Meloy that Satch Purcell:

“remembers vividly having to jump out of the way when they were still sweeping the blood from the temple later that morning” (a claim often repeated by Anti-Sai Activists)

However, Satch Purcell related his memory of the event and made no mention to seeing any blood and claimed the mess was “cleaned up before the masses could see it”. As a matter of fact, Satch only recalled being at Whitefield and said absolutely nothing about being at Puttaparthi on his 1993 trip with Hal Honig!

It is clear that Satch Purcell is attempting to pick up where his mother (Sharon Purcell) left off. Deeply hurt about his mother’s premature death from a severe illness and her belief that Baba could perform genuine miracles (which made her think Baba was an astral demon), Satch Purcell is attempting to make a case against Sathya Sai Baba. The end result is that Satch’s entire case is based on numerous hearsay claims and attempts to convince people that Baba hid watches, necklaces, rings, vibuthi and a shiva lingam in cloth handkerchiefs hanging from the side of his chair (in full view of everyone present).

Satch Purcell never claimed seeing Baba reach into his chair, behind his chair, etc. If anyone could hide all those items in handkerchiefs hanging from the side of a chair in full view of everyone present, that would be a miracle. Needless to say, Sathya Sai Baba’s miracles are not limited to his person and there are literally thousands of international claims of miracles directly attributed to Sathya Sai Baba. First of all, Barry Pittard was so devoted to Sathya Sai Baba that he named his own son after him. Barry Pittard wrote an article in Spiritual Impressions (a Sai Towers publication) claiming that Sathya Sai Baba foretold he would have a son. Barry was doubtful because he was (at the time) allegedly observing brahmacarya.

Isn’t it ironic that Barry Pittard wages gutter, vitriolic and bitter smear-campaigns against a Guru whose name he repeats day and night with love and fatherly affection? Every time Barry Pittard looks at his son, he is reminded of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

It should also come as no surprise that Barry Pittard fully believes that Sathya Sai Baba does possess genuine paranormal powers. As a matter of fact, Barry Pittard said:

“You mention witnessing Sai Baba’s performance of miracles. I can tell you that I and others have witnessed hundreds - and ones of the most profoundly beautiful sort - both mediated in his own person and in places far from him but in their style connected with him. Even ex-devotees and critics of Sathya Sai Baba concede that Sai Baba’s paranormal powers cannot be explained, are genuine and occur on a world-wide scale unparalleled in known history. These are the same ex-devotees and critics who attempt to portray themselves as rational and logical and repeatedly claim that Sai Baba is a fraud magician and a trickster.

Anti-Sai Activists (including Barry Pittard) cannot make a sober and consistent argument against Sri Satya Sai Baba. They can only smear, propagandize, embellish and resort to baseless rumors, gossip and ad hominem attacks.

Barry Pittard claims that he is “an international coordinator in attempts to bring Sai Baba to justice” and is a coordinator belonging to the bogus “global coalition” F.D.S.S.B. Barry Pittard & Co attempt to whitewash, ignore and dismiss Alaya Rahm’s Failed Lawsuit Against The Sathya Sai Baba Society, which revealed crucial and very disturbing information purposely suppressed about Alaya Rahm.

Barry Pittard attacks Sathya Sai Baba as both genuine and fraudulent, divine and human, light and dark. Unable to explain away the enigma of Sai Baba, Pittard sticks his foot in his mouth and leaves the door open just enough to compromise all of his arguments against his former Guru.

Let us hope that Barry's son does not develop some sort of mental complex when he grows up to realize that his name belongs to a Guru whom critics (including his own father) fallaciously call a “pedophile”, “homosexual” and a “fraud”. Barry Pittard made the following claims about being a "lecturer" at Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's Whitefield College:

"By Barry Pittard, Australia, former Lecturer, Sri Sathya Sai College of the Arts, Science and Commerce, Whitefield, Karnataka."

"I was a lecturer in SSB's first (and very prestigious) college outside Bangalore back in 1978-79."

"I am a former English Lecturer in Sathya Sai Baba's vast educational establishment, where I taught at his Whitefield College in 1978-79, via Bangalore, in south India."

About these claims, the following is to be noted:

From Sathyam Sivam, Sundarm Volume 5 page 64-65:

The first institute of higher education founded by Baba was the College of Arts and Science for Women at Anantapur in 1968; the second was the College for Men at Brindavan, Whitefield, in 1969. These were residential colleges ... In 1979, a college for Men was established at Prashanti Nilayam, The Colleges at Anantapur and Prashanti Nilayam were affiliated to the Sri Venkateswara University in Andrha Pradesh and the college at Brindavan was under the Bangalore University in Karnakata ... Sri Sathya Sai Colleges at Prashanti Nilayam and Whitefield had only under-graduate courses and the college at Anantapur had only one post-graduate course in Telugu language apart from under-graduate courses.

On the reccomendation of the University Grants Commission, the Government of India conferred the status of Deemed University on the College at Prashanti Nilayam. The good news was announced to a packed Poornachandra Hall on Vijaya Dasami day on the 8th of October 1981 ... on 22nd of November 1981, the inauguration of the Deemed University - Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning by the Honourable Chief
Justice of the Supeme Court of India, Sir Y.V. Chandrachud, in the presence of Bhagavan Baba, who blessed the University by becoming its Chancellor. V.K. Gokak was vice chancellor.

Therefore, Barry Pittard allegedly lectured in English and Drama for a total of a few months (not two, full, consecutive years as Barry Pittard erroneously claimed) at the Whitefield Campus before it became the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning and before it became renown as a prestigious University.

Barry Pittard also attempts to make it appear as if he recently lectured at Baba's Whitefield College because he often leaves out the fact that he lectured in 1978-1979 or 27 years ago. He also insists he taught at Baba's college for 2 full years when, in fact, he taught for a total of a few months at most. During his time teaching there, he never received any complaints of sexual abuse or molestation from any student against Sathya Sai Baba. The Brindavan Campus existed as a separate institute prior to the creation of SSSIHL, by about ten years. Barry Pittard was long gone by the time.

In those days Sathya Sai Baba appointed several Westerners to teach English Literature. For example, Paul William Roberts gave a brief account of his time as a teacher at the Brindavan Campus during 74-75 in his book "Empire of the Soul" (Harper Collins India, ISBN 0773727388) in which he described his teaching duties as "hardly onerous" and that he spent most of his time "explaining plots and leaping around acting out scenes". Barry Pittard would have encountered something similar.

Barry Pittard was not paid to teach at Sathya Sai Baba's Whitefield College. To date, Barry Pittard has yet to provide any credentials that he possessed that would have entitled him to teach at any College as a lecturer or Professor in English or Drama.

Barry Pittard: 'We Do Not Slur'

Barry Pittard (a former follower of Sathya Sai Baba) has often boasted:

“We do not slur. We present evidence and of a seriousness that is respected by our national governments, law enforcement agencies and non-sensationalist responsible media”.

Now let us take a look at an article written by Barry Pittard in which he not only casts slurs against Sai Baba, he also wrote bitter, vindictive and sensationalistic slop that would surely be scoffed at by “national governments, law enforcement agencies and non-sensationalist responsible media”. For those who do not know, “bugger” is vulgar slang for a “sodomite”.

Barry Pittard: This Jaga refers of course to Jegatheesan, the leader of the SS Org., in Malaysia, who flounces around with upraised hand blessing people as though he has become one with SSB. It is the same Jaga or Jega (the spelling varies, but not the adverse reports concerning him) who I challenge to answer whether various (some now former) SSB devotee parents have tried to put to him, but been curtly disregarded by him, details of their sons’ sexual molestations at the hands of SSB, as have many parents done, again in vain, with other high ranking SSB leaders in different countries of the world.

As one can see, Barry Pittard attempts to portray himself one way in public but acts very different in private. The fact of the matter is that Barry Pittard does slur. He also lies and distorts the truth about Sathya Sai Baba and he does so shamelessly.

India's most famous guru, Sathya Sai Baba, has been named by the U.S. State Department as the subject of its earlier travel warning regarding reports against him of sexual molestation of young males. The warning had stated Sathya Sai Baba's location, but not his name.

Sathya Sai Baba proclaims to be the fullest incarnation of the divine in world history. He has millions of followers, from many countries and cultures, who donate billions to his Central Trust fund. For many years, Presidents, Prime Ministers and elites from many political parties, the armed services, police, judiciary etc have flocked to his ashram in Puttaparthi, South India. Political patronage makes it difficult to secure convictions against him in the courts of India.

There are now State Department citizen and media phone contact numbers where officers will confirm that Sathya Sai Baba is the individual referred to in its earlier travel warning (see details below).

As of May 25, 2004, the U.S. State Department now names the guru it referred to when warning U.S. travellers to the state of Andhra Pradesh to be aware of reports of "inappropriate sexual behavior by a prominent local religious leader" practised on young male devotees, including a number of U.S. citizens. (Consular Information Sheet, November 23, 2001).

The U.S. State Department will verify that the 'local religious leader' mentioned in the earlier warning notice is in fact Sathya Sai Baba. For enquiries other than by the Media, contact:

This is the same U.S. State Department Advisory For India that Barry Pittard boasted about ex-devotees accomplishing (Reference). Barry Pittard completely distorted the advisory in the following ways:

1. Pittard purposely withheld the link to the official Consular Sheet for India.


2. Pittard clearly insinuated that the advisory mentioned Sathya Sai Baba by name when he said: "The US State Department is now naming India's most famous (and infamous) guru Sathya Sai Baba as the previously unnamed individual mentioned in its earlier Travel Warning." Sathya Sai Baba's name has never been published on the Consular Sheet for India. Rather, one must allegedly contact John C. Peters and privately verify that the warning pertains to Sathya Sai Baba. Therefore, the warning still refers to an unnamed religious leader.


3. Pittard attempted to decieve others by mentioning the bogus "Former Devotees of Sathya Sai Baba, a Global Coalition" (FDSSB). Oddly enough, despite FDSSB being a "Global Coalition", it does not even have a proper domain, a written objective, a public forum, an online newsletter, public sponserships, conferencing schedules, collaborations, memberships, a board of directors, FAQ's, annual reports, public events, funding policies or even publications. Rather, Meloy and Pittard attempted to create official-looking webpages claiming that FDSSB had an "Office of Communications" with a "Media Relations Department"! These are the shameless deceivers attempting to "expose" Sathya Sai Baba.


4. Pittard claimed that the advisory was in relation to "pedophile accusations". No where on the advisory does it say anything about "pedophile accusations" or "pedophilia". Not even one single word!


5. Pittard purposely left out the word "unconfirmed" when he cited the Consular Sheet for India. Pittard quoted the advisory saying, "inappropriate sexual behavior by a prominent local religious leader". The warning specifically stated "unconfirmed reports of inappropriate sexual behavior by a prominent local religious leader".

Although critics and a few alleged victims make public demands for justice, they have failed to follow even the most remedial prerequisites required by the law. Instead of following the law (as would be required from the rest of us) critics and ex-devotees have created their own forums and websites where they judge, try and convict Sathya Sai Baba with "evidence" taken from mostly anonymous and second-hand sources. It is often seen that critics and ex-devotees publicly anguish on the internet about their "serious ethical duty to rise up and speak out against sexual molestation", yet have miserably failed to file charges in the Penukonda Magistrates Court or any other court of law in India. As the Sai Critic pointed out (with a slight modification):

"Do proceed with haste, with all anguised persons, nay sayers, gossipers and the like. ESPECIALLY do take 'young men from around the world who have come forward to describe their victimization by this man masquerading as God', do instigate and demand investigation, demand the laying of charges, demand the prosecution, with ALL HASTE.

Are you there critics and ex-devotees?

Cease acting as middle men.

Assist those who report complaints with Sai Baba.

Provide tickets.

Get them on a plane.

Fly with them to Bangalore or Hyderabad.

Assist with travel to Penukonda, to the Magistrates Court.

Fulfill your SERIOUS ETHICAL DUTY and lay your charges.

Assist these traumatised others to lay charges in the proper courts.

Then you will have salvaged your conscience and fulfilled your serious ethical duty. We remind you that Sai Baba is not afraid. After all, he has said, "Why be afraid of the mistake you have not committed?"

To date (after many years), not even one critic has even tried to assist any alleged victim file a case against Sathya Sai Baba in India and no one seems to care or question why.
